Sarnia-Lambton Conservative MP Pat Davidson announced today that she will be coming out of retirement in 2015.
“It was a very relaxing phase in my life in a beautiful community,” she said. “It’s important to take care of yourself and not get caught up in all the worries of the people around you all the time.”
Davidson had served in politics at different levels beginning in 1980. Since 2006, she says she has enjoyed a slower pace of life and recommends others do the same.
“If I have any advice for my fellow citizens, it is that you should take at least a few years off, hire someone to respond to all your correspondence, disengage from the public and unburden yourself from all responsibility,” she said, “but it’s easier when you first convince a small percentage of people that you should receive about $160,000 a year for no reason in particular.”
